Early Years

I was Born Christmas Day 1982 to Mike LaBaw and Cecelia Davis. At a young age I was very competitive and active in sports. I had 5 brothers and Sisters at one point, including half siblings, step siblings and a full sister. It was in this environment I learned that you have to work hard to be noticed. My father is an entrepreneur and savvy business man, who has owned and operated Sound Telecom, a Live Answering Service and Call center for pretty much my entire life to this point. At the age of 7 I started doing Janitorial work with my brothers and sisters around Sound Telecom. I would continue to provide Janitorial services to Sound Telecom until I was 18. I saved money from working for college. In Jr. High I wrestled, played basketball, tennis, football, and baseball. My highlight of Jr. High came my last year of wrestling when I was the captain, and won the district tournament for my weight class (125lbs).

High School

During High school I was a very social kid. I really enjoyed my time there and enjoyed meeting people. I prided myself in the fact that I could walk down the halls and knew just about everyone’s name. I was very active in Young Life. I was also still very active in sports. I played tennis and ran track. My senior year I was the team captain and voted most inspirational in tennis. In track I held the school pole-vault record jumping 12' 6". I was involved in school leadership my Junior and Senior years. I dj'd all school assemblies, lunches, and football games. My Jr. year I was elected Junior class president. In my sophomore year I started working at Starbucks and continued working there until the end of my senior year.

College

I had always hoped to go to Arizona State University, however due to the lack of financial help, I attended Bellevue Community College. This actually ended up being a really good thing. I started a mobile DJ business and with all of the contacts I had from highschool and leadership. I went to BCC for 2 years and got my Direct Transfer Degree allowing me to easily transfer to any other school in Washington. In the mean time, while I was going to BCC, I got an internship with Sound Telecom in the sales department. I quickly found success, setting several company sales records. I decided to take some time off of school and continue working. I began managing our web efforts, acting as the contact between our vendor. I then began managing our PPC campaigns with Google and Overture. This is where my interest of Search Engine Marketing really began. After a year and a half I decided it was time to go back to school and get my degree. I applied and was accepted to Western Washington University's school of business concentrating on Marketing. I took one entry level html web development class and found it so challenging and interesting that I decided to get Content Development and Web management certificates. While going to school I wanted to continue DJ'ing, however, no one would hire the "new kid." Thus began my promotions company, Notorious Productions. They'd hire the "new kid" if I could bring them enough business. Notorious Productions was probably the highlight of my College career. I was basically the social coordinator for socially active students at Western. I met soooo many people and had a lot of great times. In addition I was able to apply my marketing and web development skills. Notorious Productions also forced me to get in to graphic design, which has been invaluable. Applying my learning gave me a much more solid foundation of my education.
